Nice Pub in a nice area that serves very nice Dinner. Slightly pricey but I don't think it's too bad and you do very nearly get your money's worth. I went for a Small Cod n Chips (£16.50) and to say it was a small, the portion sizes are on the larger side... Maybe a bit too big but just about finished it Batter was crisp and chips were well cooked. Meal was great I would definitely be seeing myself coming again!

This is the third time I've visited this pub due to it being my daughters favourite place to go after a walk in the area. We absolutely love their sunday roasts , we find none of the pretentious rubbish that some pubs try to force on you. This is delicious locally sourced grub with a touch of "home cooked about it. The meats are perfectly cooked and well seasoned, the roast spuds have a perfect crispy coating with a fluffy interior, and the gravy is to die for! All is served with a generous portion of veg none of this couple of Carrots here and a Cauliflower floret there per person, there's is always plenty to spare ! They also have a great menu for other cooked food, which again we've found always well cooked and presented. It's a traditional pub that serves the usual commercial lagers and soft drinks but also has 5 or 6 draught ales on as well, so plenty of choice. We have also always found the staff welcoming and friendly with nothing too much trouble for them. If you can, get a table outside overlooking the church, if you time this right when all the tourists and bikers have left the peaks to go home, you will have a peaceful experience with that rural village pub vibe. This place is well worth a visit! Note : The photo included only shows the meat plate as I was a bit premature in my picture taking as the veg hadn't arrived yet

We spent a week in Youlgreave and popped into The George for a drink most days after being out walking. Staff were very friendly, lovely atmosphere and friendly locals. We ate here twice and both times the meals were excellent - large portions and so tasty. If you're lucky enough to go in when there are any sausage rolls left on the bar - you must buy one! It will be enough for two or more of you! Great little pub - we'll definitely visit again

My wife and I were on holiday in August (apologies for the late review!) - the food was exceptional, and it was very generous, I had the fish and chips, crispy batter, lovely fresh fish and cracking chips; I asked for a boat of gravy with it, and that too was lovely and made with love! The staff were lovely too! Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

Great pub! Second time for me and my partner and many times for my parents. After staying nearby for a week with family dad decided to book a table for 10 of us. The food was perfect and all of our plates were bought out at the same time. Can't wait to return!
